Life After graduation in 1972 from High School, I immediately went to Oakland University on a Scholarship. Played soccer and earned a varsity letter in that sport. Just went 2 semesters at Oakland. Then I began work at Ford Motor Company for a couple of years and then worked in social work helping the developmentally disabled for a few years. I attended about 3 different colleges in the Detroit area; UM-Dearborn, Detroit College of Business and Wayne State. I thought I was a 'Road' scholar at that time. That was a mistake! I didn’t know credits did not transfer easily from one college to another. Then, my father retired from General Motors and my parents, brother and sisters left for the sun-belt state of Texas. I left a year later on my own in 1978. In McAllen, Texas, I began going to college full time, The University of Texas at Edinburg.
